This museum is among the most visited museums in Scandinavia. If you are a history buff then you might be aware that the Vasa ship was built during the 17th century by the Lion of the North, Gustav II Adolf along with his partners to be the most powerful ship of that period. The ship had capsized in 1628 and sank and stayed at the bottom of the sea for 333 years whereupon the remains of the ship were salvaged. You will find three masts built on the roof of the museum. They depict the real height of the ship’s original masts. You can take a guided tour inside the museum and relive the history of that period.
